Press Conference - DCPS Food Service TRT: 13 min. In an effort to
address student concerns and encourage more students to participate
in school meal programs, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and Chancellor Michelle
Rhee go to Kimball Elemtary School to announce plans to outsource
food service operations in an effort to bring more selection and
nutrition to school menus.

Press Conference TEAM Achievement Awards TRT: 21 min. Three DCPS
schools are the proud recipients of Chancellor Michelle Rhee's first
TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) Achievement Award. Announced
at Barnard Elemtary School, principals teachers and staff at Noyes
and Tyler elementary schools also received cash prizes in recognition
of their success in boosting student scores more than 20 percent
in math and reading during the 2006-07 academic year.

Chancellor Michelle Rhee Budget Public Hearing TRT: 2 hrs. 35 min.
Chancellor Michelle Rhee seeks input from the public on the Fiscal
Year 2009 Operating Budget for DCPS. Testimony is offered on the
current and prospective educational needs of students and the program
that can address those needs.

M. Fenty, Chancellor Michelle Rhee and State Superintendent Deborah
Gist discuss the District schools that qualify for restructuring
status under federal No Child Left Behind regulations and the plan
for moving forward with the restructuring.

City Council, announces his recommendations for the revenue surplus
certified by the the Chief Financial Officer.

Restructuring Community Meeting Announcements TRT: 6 min. Mayor
Adrian M. Fenty and Chancellor Michelle Rhee take their plan for
creating new neighborhood schools, implementing innovative programs
and enhanced staffing models to the community. Nine meetings were
held from December 2007 to January 2008 to solicit input and hear
concerns.
