  •   DSTV Grand Opening / Ribbon Cutting (short version) 2/6/08 TRT: 4 min. DSTV cut the ribbon on the new studio with the help of Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and Chancellor Michelle Rhee. McKinley students asked questions in the section called "Fast Chat."

   •   Nationals Stadium Tour with Anacostia Students 12/14/07 TRT: 3 min.
Anacostia High School students are given a tour of the new National's Stadium.

   •   Lights On After School Program 10/18/07 TRT: 3 min.
Deputy Mayor Reinoso and State Superintendent Deborah Gist attended this evening program that brings attention to the need for after school programs. This was the 8th annual kickoff event. Also attending was Council Chairman Vincent Gray.

   •   City Year Opening Day Program 9/28/07 TRT: 7 min.
City Year, a national public service organization, launches its 2007-2008 year of volunteerism and mentoring in DC public schools. Location: Upper Senate Park on the Hill. Guest speakers were Chancellor Michelle Rhee and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.

Mr. Smith, a US History teacher at Eastern High School, was the recipient of the McGraw-Hill $25,000 prize for global education.
