Banneker Senior High School

This School Sketch highlights the academic success of students at
the city's only high school to have a Certified International Baccalaureate
program. It was also named a Blue Ribbon school in 1991 and in 2007.
Brookland

Technology is key at Brookland Elementary School where students
are not only introduced to the Basics of navigating the web, but
where advanced technology is being used to boost test scores in
math and reading.
Cardozo
Senior High School

track when it comes to academies that offer students job skills
and training they can put to use right out of high school, including
successful academies in construction and design as well as transportation
and aeronautics.
Hearst

in developing academic skills in its very young students. Inclusive
public/private partnerships and a a small student/teacher ratio
is helping them achieve "Adequate Yearly Progress."
Oyster
Elementary School

As the city's only bilingual school, Oyster boasts unique programs
and academic strategies that make it successful. A Blue Ribbon school,
all classes are taught by teams in both English and Spanish.
Shaw

Historic Shaw Middle School continues to offer its students the
kind of curriculum and after school activities that promote success.
From a Gifted and Talented English Program to taking the teaching
math and science skills out of the classroom, Shaw uses innovative
and effective programs to educate students effectively. Shaw also
boasts an award winning marching band.
Thomson
Elementary School

It could be the Chinese immersion classes taught to every student
