The District of Columbia Government Office of Cable Television
(OCT) is accepting applications for student internships. The OCTT internship program is
designed to educate and provide experience to students in the areas of television production and
business organizational skills. Academic credit may be earned for satisfactory completion of the
internship program. Academic credit will be applied pursuant to all rules and standards required
by the institution in which each student is enrolled. Students will be expected to participate in
the program for no less than 12 hours per week and no more than 20 hours per week.

OCT is a District of Columbia Government agency that operates under the Executive Office of
the Mayor. The agency is responsible for regulating cable television and similar video system
operators in the District of Columbia. OCT operates and manages two government cable
channels, TV-13 and TV-16. OCT TV-13 provides gavel-to-gavel coverage of the live and recorded
activities of the DC Council and its various committees. OCT TV-16 provides information on the
many programs, services, and opportunities made available by the District of Columbia Government.

The channel also features Mayoral press conferences, agency developments and exciting
feature programming spotlighting the future of the new Washington. These channels are
available within the basic channel line-up for cable systems operated in the District of Columbia.
